ISA99 | ISA/IEC-62443 Series of Standards Introduction

The ISA/IEC-62443 series of standards are not distributed free of charge and must be acquired through official means provided by ISA (International Society of Automation), or by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).

We provide access to the ISA/IEC-62443 series of standards to official ISA training students. If you have taken one of IC32, IC33, IC34, or IC37 courses with us before March 2025, you can request access by opening a support ticket.

During the past years, we have provided exclusive access to all ISA/IEC-62443 series of standards at no additional costs to ISA official training courses participants. This was an exclusive benefit not offered in any other territory. But this benefit reached an end. In March 2025 the agreement was terminated, and now new participants must access the standards through official means as everybody else. It was great that we had the chance to provide this benefit for so many years and to many people.

About WisePlant Group LLC and ISA relationship

WisePlant directives has a large relationship of many years collaborating with the ISA (International Society of Automation), which has occupied several leadership positions on ISA Section and ISA Districts.

Regarding industrial cybersecurity standards, we have collaborated with ISA Training during the design and development of the entire professional training and certificate program. We are co-authors of the IC32, IC33, IC34 and IC37, from the very beginning back in 2010 until today.

We are proudly authorized by ISA Training to provide the complete program of professional training and certification in Spanish, Portuguese and English, as we are one of the very few organizations with this level of recognition. Official ISA Training Partners.

WisePlant was the first Latin-American company (currently USA company) to officially support the ISASecureยฎ Cybersecurity Conformance Scheme. And we are now working with IEC certification scheme as well.

We are active members of ISA99 committee, being participated in several working groups through the many years of relationship. We are now actively collaborating with the “standards consistency” working group, leading the weekly meetings.

Furthermore, we are also founding members of ISA Global Cybersecurity Alliance. Learn more here.

We have more involvement in the development of ISA99 activities in spreading the knowledge and experience than any other well known multinational organization, even being a small company, which started back in 2006 when the ISA99 committed had only 30 members, today over 900 members. More than 1000 of our students already received their professional certificates.

Official agnostic ISA training courses

The main objectives of ISA training program (IC32, IC33, IC34, IC37, and IC47) is to make sure that the audience understands and interprets the requirements of the ISA/IEC-62443 series of standards correctly, in a certain degree of knowledge.

The correct interpretation of ISA/IEC-62443 is crucial before proper implementation and compliance. You won’t be able to implement and mitigate risk correctly of something you don’t understand.

Professionals without receiving proper training are very likely to misinterpret the requirement of the standards, and make costly mistakes at the moment to evaluate and mitigate industrial cybersecurity risk; even more, those with large experience in information security.

Besides that, knowledge and experience are two different things. ISA training program certifies that students understands the requirements of the ISA/IEC-62443 series standards, and does not certify their experience.

Industrial cybersecurity is not just about protecting cyber-assets, preventing cyber-incidents from happening (security of information). It goes beyond the technology itself to preventing consequences on health, safety and environmental damage. Sadly, many organizations and professional fails to achieve safety and security by three reasons:

  • They don’t know the standards,
  • They don’t implement them correctly,
  • Upper management does not recognize the importance of international standards.
